PETALING JAYA: National women’s doubles shuttlers Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah crashed out in the China Open after losing in the quarter-finals on Friday (July 24).
World No. 5 Pearly-Thinaah lost 16-21, 16-21 in 46 minutes to world No. 3 Yuki Fukushima-Mayu Matsumoto of Japan in Changzhou.
Fukushima-Matsumoto have now tied their head-to-head with five wins each.
With Pearly-Thinaah's defeat, Malaysia's challenge is over in the Super 1000 tournament.
