No action yet against the applicant for bulk deletion of voters in Musheerabad

Election authorities in Hyderabad have yet to take action against individuals attempting to mass-delete voter records in the Musheerabad constituency. Officials are investigating reports of fraudulent Form 7 submissions used to remove voters from electoral rolls.
Why it matters
The integrity of voter rolls is fundamental to democratic processes, and allegations of mass deletion threaten the fairness of upcoming elections.
Two days after the wilful attempt was made for mass deletion of existing voters in Musheerabad constituency, the election authorities of Hyderabad are yet to take any action against the person who attempted it.
No criminal cases were filed under the Representation of the People Act, 1955, against the Booth Level Agent who reportedly submitted over 30 numbers of Form 7 claims seeking deletion of a Congress party worker and his family members, under false declaration.
Even as fresh instances of pre-printed Form 7s emerged from Bahadurpura, and later from Goshamahal constituencies, District Election Officer R.V. Karnan said a decision will be taken after going through the report submitted by the Electoral Registration Officer concerned. He said each BLA can file a total 30 claims for deletion, and in each instance, he cannot file more than 10.
