Why it matters
This upset significantly impacts college football rankings and conference standings as the season progresses.
The No. 21 UCLA Bruins pulled off a big upset victory over No. 13 Oregon on Saturday afternoon, winning 17-15 .
UCLA's defense was the story, forcing seven turnovers: five fumbles (including the final-play lateral the Bruins recovered) and two interceptions. The Bruins also came up big with a 2-point conversion stop that clinched the win.
This was the Ducks' second failed two-point conversion. When Oregon scored a touchdown with seven minutes gone in the first quarter, the Ducks tried a rush, but were stuffed. Hindsight is 20-20, but if Oregon had taken the extra point both times, the game would have been tied.
The Ducks were without starting quarterback Dante Moore, who is still recovering from the concussion suffered against USC two weeks ago. As a result, Oregon went with backup Dylan Raiola. The Nebraska transfer looked like a completely different quarterback this week.
