NMDC posts higher iron ore output, sales in August

State-owned mining company NMDC reported a 21% increase in iron ore production for August, reaching 4.07 million tonnes. The company is aggressively pursuing production targets of 60 million tonnes for the current fiscal year.

State-owned mining major NMDC’s August iron ore production rose nearly 21% to 4.07 million tonnes compared to 3.37 MT in the corresponding period of previous fiscal.
Sales of the steel raw material increased from 3.58 MT (3.39 MT), the company said in a filing on Tuesday. For the five months ended August, iron ore production was almost 26% higher at 23.23 MT (18.45 MT), while sales rose to 18.72 (18.37).
NMDC, which is India’s largest iron ore producer, is eyeing 60 MT production this fiscal and by 2030 100 MT.
