India have announced their squad for the home ODI & T20I series against the West Indies. Shubman Gill leads the side which includes the experienced duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. KL Rahul has been named vice-captain for the series, replacing Shreyas Iyer, who deputised for Gill in the previous ODI assignment, against England. Iyer will lead the Indian team in the one-off T20I against Japan as well as the Asian Games that overlap with the one-dayers. Nitish Kumar Reddy has been withdrawn from the Asian Games in favour of the ODIs. Naman Dhir, the Punjab batter, has earned his maiden call-up along with Auqib Nabi. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who played in the Afghanistan ODIs but did not feature in the England one-dayers, has been included as the backup opener.
