NIT-K to host two-day NIT Deans’ Conclave on innovation and entrepreneurship from September 24

The National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NIT-K), Surathkal, will host a two-day All-India NIT Deans’ Conclave on ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem’ from Thursday.

Delegates will identify and discuss challenges faced by their institutes regarding research translation, product innovation, technology licensing, and startup incubation. Experts will share best practices to create a conducive ecosystem for traversing the pathway from idea to invention to innovation to impact.

The conclave is being organised following a resolution of the apex council of NITs, which tasked NIT-K with sharing relevant policies and practices with other NITs. The ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship’ policy of NIT-K will be discussed and adapted by participating institutes. Delegates will also visit various elements of NIT-K’s innovation ecosystem, including the Centre for System Design, IDEA Factory, Central Research Facility, Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Park, and the beach.
