The National Institute of Technology-Calicut (NIT-C) on Wednesday (August 19, 2026) welcomed over 1,600 newly admitted undergraduate (UG) students as part of its UG Orientation Programme 2026, marking the highest undergraduate intake in the institution’s history.
The record-breaking cohort includes students enrolling across the institute’s Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Bachelor of Architecture (BArch), and Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP BSc-BEd) streams, underscoring NIT-C’s ongoing academic expansion.
Jayaraj U. Kidav, Executive Director of the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Kozhikode, inaugurated the orientation as the chief guest. NIT-C Director Prof. Prasad Krishna presided over the function. A.V. Babu, Dean (Academic), was present.
