The Nileshwaram police have arrested two more people in connection with the seizure of 665.67 grams of suspected MDMA reportedly smuggled from Delhi on the Mangaluru Express, taking the total number of arrests in the case to four. The police are investigating possible international links behind the alleged drug trafficking and whether the accused are connected to a separate drug smuggling case in Mangaluru, where suspected MDMA worth several crores was allegedly intercepted while being transported through a courier service.
The latest arrests are those of Yusuf and Noushad Ali, both residents of Mangalpady. They were arrested by a team led by Nileshwaram Sub Inspector C.M. Sabu.
The other two arrested are Ahmed Rukshad, 33, and Abdul Hameed, 30. The seized substance is valued at more than ₹50 lakh.
