Osimhen gave Galatasaray the lead in the 16th minute, finishing off an attacking move to put his side in front. However, the Nigerian forward was unable to continue after picking up an injury and was substituted 17 minutes later, with Barış Alper Yılmaz coming on in his place. Istanbul Basaksehir responded after the break, with Eldor Shomurodov converting a penalty in the 66th minute to level the score.
