Nigerian Film Censors Board NFVCB Demands Problem-Solving Production From Content Creators

According to him, Nigeria's entertainment industry has continuously adapted to technological changes, moving from celluloid to video, VCD, DVD, cinema, television and streaming.

The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has called for fair monetisation for Nigerian content creators, adding that the country’s creative industry must also solve problems and protect audiences.

The Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the NFVCB, Dr Shaibu Husseini, stated this while delivering the keynote address at the global launch of Bebuzee in Lagos State.

Husseini, who chaired the event, said the emergence of new digital platforms should not be viewed merely as an expansion of content distribution but as an opportunity to address longstanding challenges surrounding monetisation and opportunities for Nigerian creators.

He charged Bebuzee to “innovate responsibly,” respect intellectual property, protect audiences and comply with relevant laws.
