Nigeria prepares to host 2027 African School Games
Nigeria is on track to host the 2027 African School Games in Abuja, according to the Nigeria Olympic Committee. The plan was presented to the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa during the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.

--> President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee Habu Gumel said that the country’s preparations to host the 2027 African School Games in Abuja are on track. The competitions are scheduled to take place in Nigeria’s capital from August 2 to 11, 2027.
As Premium Times Nigeria reports , Nigeria presented its plan for hosting the tournament to the General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa. According to Gumel, this took place during the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games in Japan, where the plan was received positively.
