Nicolas Cage’s Malibu mansion has been damaged by a massive sinkhole.
The Spider-Noir actor bought the four-level oceanfront property for US$10.5 million in 2024 and he’s now facing a big bill after the driveway collapsed on Wednesday amid coastal erosion.
Fire officials told ABC7 that crews were dispatched to the vacant property about 5.45am after reports of a suspected gas main break, and it emerged the erosion had washed away the ground beneath the driveway, breaking a water and gas line.
The damage meant the Southern California Gas Company had to shut off the gas supply to the area and an evacuation order was later issued by officials for the surrounding properties.
