NIA team visits Army camp amid probe into missing firearms
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched an investigation into the theft of 12 firearms from an Army camp in Secunderabad. Authorities are questioning military personnel while ruling out the involvement of Agniveers in the security breach.

A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) visited the 20 Madras Regiment premises in Bollarum, Secunderabad Cantonment, on Friday (September 4, 2026), as investigators continued to probe the disappearance of 12 firearms and ammunition from the Army establishment.
The team visited the scene of offence and met the investigators inside the Cantonment. The visit comes as the investigation has widened, with Army personnel, including Agniveers, sepoys and others who had access to the premises, being questioned. Military Intelligence and multiple units of the Telangana police are also assisting in the probe.
