Czechia nearly opened the scoring early on when Pavel Sulc pounced on a defensive mistake to run through on goal, but James Trafford quickly came off his line to clear the danger.
England should have scored with their first attempt in the 15th minute, with Morgan Rogers striking the woodwork. Harry Kane then failed to make a clean connection on the rebound before Bukayo Saka 's effort was blocked.
Sulc was sent off inside the opening half hour following his dangerous tackle on Elliot Anderson , reducing Czechia to 10 men.
