The NFL has confirmed that the playing surface at Maracanã Stadium in Brazil is safe for the upcoming Ravens-Cowboys game. League officials conducted inspections alongside the NFL Players Association and reported that all safety concerns have been addressed.

Amid talk that the field at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is not going to hold up to the rigors of an NFL game, the league is insisting all is fine.
NFL Field Director Nick Pappas told reporters in Brazil today that there is “no need to worry.” Pappas said he reviewed the playing surface with an independent expert and a representative of the NFL Players Association and there are no safety concerns.
“We have an independent inspector that comes in, walks with myself, walks with a member of the NFLPA,” Pappas said. “They were here yesterday. Performed that test. Things check out. We’ve made additional improvements to the field that we think were helpful.”
The game, which is considered a Cowboys home game, kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday.
