Next phase of Roo-ver lunar rover broadcast to the public

The Australian Space Agency and ELO2 consortium are developing the 'Roo-ver' lunar rover for a 2030 mission to the moon's south pole. The rover will carry NASA technology to analyze lunar soil and support sustainable human presence.
Why it matters
This mission represents a significant milestone in Australian space exploration and international collaboration on lunar resource research.
Roo-ver, developed by the ELO2 consortium in partnership with the Australian Space Agency, will be carrying NASA technology to test lunar soil on the moon’s south pole region across a 14 Earth-day mission in 2030.
A new Roo-ver prototype is reportedly being tested in realistic lunar environments at Adelaide University’s Extraterrestrial Environment Simulation Covered Regolith Analogue for Testing and Experimental Research Facility, part of the Andy Thomas Centre for Space Resources.
