The country’s growth story was filled with opportunities as the next generation workforce talent made it a global destination for investment, according to R. Shankar Raman, President and Wholetime Director – Finance, Larsen and Toubro.
Delivering the 40 th Convocation Day address at SASTRA Deemed University, Thirumalaisamudhram near Thanjavur on Saturday, Mr. Shankar Raman said healthcare, education, public transport and utilities, semiconductor, water, defence and energy and environment were the strategic areas of investment that shall leverage the bountiful demographic dividend.
He added that there must be a coordinated effort between industry and academia to provide a balance between grounded knowledge in traditional disciplines and continuous learning in emerging technologies.
