Chavara police have registered a domestic violence case against a man and his parents following allegations of brutal physical abuse against a newly married 24-year-old woman over dowry demands.
The victim, Anju of Anagha Mandiram in Neendakara, has been admitted to the Kollam District Hospital with multiple severe injuries. The accused include her husband, Nandu (28) of Mundakkath House, Parimanam, and his parents, Dinesh and Jagadamma. The couple was married on July 27, and the complaint states that mental harassment regarding insufficient dowry began within weeks of the wedding.
