Newer insulin may reduce low blood sugar in youth with type 1 diabetes

A clinical trial involving youth with type 1 diabetes in Bangladesh and Tanzania found that the insulin analog glargine reduced nighttime hypoglycemia compared to older human insulins. These benefits, however, were only observed after one year of treatment.
