An 18-year-old P-plate driver has been arrested after crashing into a crowd of Newcastle Knights fans, leaving two people, including a 5-year-old girl, in critical condition.
The incident happened as onlookers waited to farewell the team bus before the NRL grand final.
Officials said in a press conference this afternoon that 10 people were injured and were all taken to hospital.
A girl aged 5 and a 67-year-old man were in critical condition.
The eight other people remain in stable condition and include a second 5-year-old girl, a 2-year-old girl, two women aged 31 and 63 and four men aged 48, 24, 25 and 57, ABC reported.
ABC has also reported 10 ambulances and three helicopters are treating a number of people at the scene.
