According to Football Insider's Pete O'Rourke , the Magpies intend to continue their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen forward Christian Kofane when the transfer market reopens, with Aston Villa also keeping its interest alive.
"Newcastle United and Aston Villa will continue their chase of Bayer Leverkusen's Christian Kofane into the January transfer window," O'Rourke reported. "The Premier League duo have been heavily linked with a move to sign the 20-year-old forward in recent days, but were ultimately unable to seal a deal before the deadline."
