New Zealand great and IPL coach wins England coaching role
Stephen Fleming has been appointed as the new head coach for the England Test cricket team, succeeding Brendon McCullum. Fleming brings extensive experience from his time coaching the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.

Fleming will replace Brendon McCullum in the key coaching role, after his fellow [New Zealander was relieved of the position](https://www.icc-cricket.com/news/brendon-mccullum-to-step-down-as-england-test-head-coach) following a series defeat to the Black Caps in June.

Despite having never held a head coach position at an international side, Fleming joins the England setup with a bulk of experience in franchise cricket having been in charge of the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League in two separate stints since 2009 alongside short-terms domestic stints for teams in Australia, South Africa and the USA.
