New studies pursue the ‘perfect’ blend for coffee and health

A new scientific statement from the American Heart Association suggests that moderate coffee consumption may reduce the risk of several chronic diseases. However, the report cautions against high caffeine intake and notes that preparation methods can influence health outcomes.
Why it matters
This research provides evidence-based guidance for public health, clarifying long-standing debates about the health impacts of daily coffee consumption.
Every morning, many of us drink one or two cups of coffee and feel good, refreshed, and ready for the day. Some of us drink one or two more cups at work before lunchtime. Some use pure coffee while others add chicory to it. We prepare the powder using a filter, add milk and sugar, and take a swig.
While many Indians have a fondness for coffee, almost everyone in the U.S. and Europe drinks coffee, and more of it, every day.
