New SP assumes office in Thoothukudi
R. Shiva Prasad has assumed the role of Superintendent of Police for the Thoothukudi district. He has prioritized the elimination of narcotics and the enhancement of safety for women and children as his primary administrative goals.

R. Shiva Prasad, a 2016 batch IPS officer, assumed office as Superintendent of Police (SP) of Thoothukudi district on Monday.
Mr. Shiva Prasad was hitherto SP of Sivaganga district and prior to that he was the SP of Theni district. He succeeds Abishek Gupta, who was posted as SP of Sivaganga district.
Speaking to the media after taking charge, Mr. Shiva Prasad said, “In line with the Tamil Nadu government’s priorities, special emphasis will be placed on eliminating narcotics in Thoothukudi district. Equal importance will also be given to the safety and security of women and children.”
