New programme targets Namibia’s investment professionals
Mumi Investment Managers and the Namibia Investment & Finance Academy have launched a three-year pilot program to train investment professionals. The initiative aims to build local capacity for managing institutional capital through certifications and practical experience.

Mumi Investment Managers and the Namibia Investment & Finance Academy (Nifa) have launched a three-year programme to develop investment professionals for Namibia’s growing capital markets.
The Namibia Capital Markets Talent Development Programme will be implemented as a three-year pilot, combining industry-focused training, internationally recognised professional certifications and practical workplace experience to prepare future investment professionals.
The programme includes structured workshops, Bloomberg terminal training, support for globally recognised qualifications such as the chartered financial analyst, financial risk manager, chartered alternative investment analyst and financial modelling and valuation analyst, as well as internship placements from 2027.
Nifa chief executive Arinze Okafor says the initiative responds to growing demand for professionals capable of managing Namibia’s increasing institutional capital while meeting higher governance and fiduciary standards.
“Namibia has built a substantial pool of institutional capital, but our long-term success depends on developing the professionals capable of managing, allocating and governing that capital.
