New MUDA chairman to get government nod for draft Master Plan III on priority

The newly nominated chairman of the Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), Santhosh Kumar Shetty, said on Monday that his first priority was to get the draft Master Plan III for the Mangaluru Local Planning Area approved by the government.
Speaking to reporters after taking charge, Mr. Shetty said MUDA had submitted the draft to the government in January. It has been awaiting approval for over seven months.
The chairman said he would discuss the matter with Urban Development Minister Yatindra Siddaramaiah and District In-charge Minister U.T. Khader to secure the approval. Once the draft is approved, the authority will invite objections, if any, from the public and other stakeholders.
