New industrial parks to spur MSME growth, Minister tells T.N. Assembly
Tamil Nadu's MSME Minister announced the creation of several new industrial parks across the state, including specialized zones for women and coconut-based industries. The government is also updating its MSME policy to emphasize technology adoption, automation, and Artificial Intelligence.

Tamil Nadu’s MSME Minister P. Mathan Raja said that new industrial parks focused on supporting women would come up across the state. “New women industrial parks will be set up at Sankaraperi (Thoothukudi) in 10 acres at ₹3.70 crore, Narasinganallur (Tirunelveli) in 15 acres at ₹47.13 crore, and Palaiyapatti SIPCOT Industrial Estate (Thanjavur) in 10 acres at ₹8.00 crore,” he said.
The Minister also said that a new comprehensive MSME policy will be formulated focusing on encouraging investments and entrepreneurship, technology upgrading, Industry 4.0 adoption, automation, and Artificial Intelligence.
