New direct flight routes from Singapore to various Indonesian destinations are increasing travel accessibility and fostering business opportunities. Travelers are now able to visit less-known islands without the need for long layovers in Jakarta.

For years, Singaporeans seeking a quick Indonesian holiday had a familiar shortlist: Fly to Bali (pictured) or Jakarta, or take a ferry to nearby Batam or Bintan.
But look at the departure board now, and unfamiliar names are emerging – as new direct flights no longer necessitate transiting in Jakarta.
As at July 2026, there are direct flights from Singapore to 17 Indonesian destinations – up from three at the height of Covid-19 lockdowns and 13 in 2016.
