New Corporation Commissioner assumes charge

N. Ponmani has assumed the role of Commissioner for the Tiruchi City Corporation, succeeding Veer Pratap Singh. She has pledged to prioritize the improvement of basic civic amenities and the resolution of public grievances.

N. Ponmani assumed charge as Commissioner of Tiruchi City Corporation on Friday, replacing Veer Pratap Singh, who has been transferred.
Ms. Ponmani was previously Additional Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, Tiruchi, a recently created post. A 2021-batch IAS officer, Ms. Ponmani is an alumna of the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchi.
On assuming charge, Ms. Ponmani said she would accord priority for improving basic amenities and redress citizens’ grievances.
