New building for School of Family Health Studies under KUHS to be opened in Kozhikode on September 5

Health Minister K. Muraleedharan will open the new building for the School of Family Health Studies under the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) on September 5. It is located on the campus of the Government Medical College, Kozhikode.

A release said on Thursday (September 3) that the new facility constructed on 50 cents comprises a cellar, ground floor, and first floor. It aims to promote the health of society by ensuring the health and well-being of families. The school seeks to provide the necessary academic and research support to protect the health of vulnerable groups, including children, women of reproductive age, and the elderly.

Research in family health, training programmes for human resource development, creating awareness about family-centred healthcare, providing academic support for government programmes, and policy formulation related to family health are among its major activities.
