New birth, death, marriage certificates will be available in three days after registration for Mumbaikars

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has streamlined its registration process, allowing Mumbai residents to obtain birth, death, and marriage certificates within three working days. The initiative utilizes a new portal and ward-level Civic Facilitation Centres to improve service efficiency.
Why it matters
This represents a significant improvement in public service delivery and administrative efficiency for a major metropolitan population.
Mumbai residents will be able to obtain birth, death and marriage certificates within three working days, with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) streamlining registration and correction services through its ward-level Civic Facilitation Centres (CFC).
The BMC is accepting applications for birth and death registrations and corrections through the Registration of Birth & Death (RBD) portal at ward level CFCs.
BMC commissioner Ashwini Bhide said, “The facility is provided to make the application acceptance more convenient and easier.”
Under this facility, the name of the child on the birth certificate (within 15 years of the birth) will appear in just the working days, corrections in the marriage certificate, and in birth and death certificates will be done in 25 working days. This will also include applications for conversion to QR coded certificate.
