Netflix denies 'ludicrous' claim The Gentlemen season 2 tweet was about Charlie Kirk

Netflix UK & Ireland has denied claims that a recent social media post about The Gentlemen season 2 was a reference to Charlie Kirk’s death.

On September 10, the streaming service shared pictures of The Gentlemen’s lead character Eddie Horniman (Theo James) and his love interest Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) on X.

The tweet was captioned ‘Nearly did himself a neck injury.’

As the tweet was posted on the anniversary of right-wing political activist Kirk’s death, however, several people assumed that Netflix was joking about his assassination.

‘This post will become social media history,’ wrote @justimportant2. ‘When your subscription service fails, this post will come back in millions of views to mock you. Bless you, Charlie. I am sorry these people are so cruel.’
