Netball: Silver Ferns react to Constellation Cup rule change before Australia Diamonds tests

The Silver Ferns have reacted to a Constellation Cup rule change that eliminates a repeat of last year’s extra-time thriller against the Australian Diamonds.

Last year, the Silver Ferns rallied from 2-0 down in the series, winning both games in New Zealand to force a 14-minute extra-time decider, which the Diamonds won 12-11.

The occasion was marred by an ACL injury to Australian defender Sunday Aryang, who clashed with Kiwi shooter Grace Nweke while contesting a long-range pass in the final seconds. The efforts of Ferns midcourters Maddy Gordon and Kate Heffernan were also affected by cramp.

With two games on each side of the ditch, the October series could finish 2-2 again. The Diamonds have lost their last 10 tests in New Zealand, while the Silver Ferns have won only one of their last nine in Australia.
