Net liability of Malaysian govt and taxpayers after recovery likely to be RM20 bil, says MOF

The four companies, which are currently undergoing liquidation under court-appointed liquidators, are seeking damages related to funds allegedly misappropriated from 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) and SRC International Sdn Bhd.
“The recovery efforts are not merely about reclaiming the money that was lost.
“Trust, confidence in institutions and Malaysia’s standing in the eyes of its international partners were also compromised in this dark chapter of the nation’s history,” said Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in a media statement Sunday.
