Nepal flood: Keralam starts help desk to provide emergency assisstance to stranded people
The Kerala government has established a help desk via NoRKA-Roots to assist Keralites stranded in Nepal following catastrophic flash floods. The initiative coordinates with the Indian Embassy to provide emergency information and rescue support.

The Keralam government has set up a help desk under the aegis of NoRKA-Roots, the field agency of the Department of Non-Resident Keralites Affairs (NoRKA), to provide emergency assistance, services and information regarding Keralites stranded in Nepal following the flash floods in the Himalayan nation .

According to initial reports, the catastrophic flash floods that hit Nepal have claimed more than 100 lives so far, with the toll expected to rise, as hundreds of tourists, including foreign nationals, have also been reported missing. The NoRKA help desk was set up on the instructions of the Chief Minister’s Office to provide emergency assistance to those affected.
