NEP 2020 is first serious attempt to decolonise education system, says T.N. Governor
Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar stated that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is a vital step toward decolonizing the Indian education system. He urged stakeholders to focus on character building and expressed concern over resistance to implementing the policy.

The National Education Policy 2020 is a first serious attempt to decolonise our education system, said Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at the 59th convocation ceremony of Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College on Saturday in Chennai.
Addressing the gathering he said, “All these years we have been following the colonised education system. If the decolonised education system or the NEP 2020 is implemented, all the students will be able to answer what am I here to have as education.”
Pointing out that the purpose of an education is to build character he said the purpose of the NEP 2020 is to create a good person.
