Nellore Ganesh Ghat all set for idol immersion ceremony, says Anam
Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy announced that preparations for the Ganesh idol immersion ceremony in Nellore are complete. Officials are also planning the development of a permanent Ganesh Ghat to facilitate future festival celebrations.
Why it matters
Infrastructure development for large-scale religious festivals is a significant aspect of local government planning and public works in India.
Minister for Endowments Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said that arrangements were in place for the smooth conduct of the idol immersion ceremony at Ganesh Ghat in Nellore as part of the Vinayaka Chaturthi celebrations.
The Minister was speaking to the media on Sunday after holding a coordination meeting with district officials and members of Vikrama Simhapuri Ganesh Seva Samithi on the festival. Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and TDP official spokesperson Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy and others were also present at the meeting.
The Minister hoped that a spiritual atmosphere would prevail at the ghat on the final day of the festival when the idols would be brought for immersion in the waters.
