Negri polls: No rift over choice of PH candidate for Chuah, says Aminuddin

Negri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan chairman Aminuddin Harun has denied rumors of a rift within the coalition regarding the candidate selection for the Chuah seat. Local politician Kenny Chiew explained that his exclusion was due to a technical administrative error rather than internal conflict.
Why it matters
Addressing internal party disputes is critical for maintaining coalition unity ahead of the upcoming state election in Malaysia.
LINGGI: Negri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun has rubbished claims of a falling out over the coalition's choice of candidate for Chuah.
Aminuddin said deputy Port Dickson PKR chief Datuk Kenny Chiew Chi Kin, who was among the touted names to contest the seat, is fully behind candidate Datuk Yew Boon Lye and actively helping with the state election campaign.
"We have seen several social media posts playing up a supposed dispute over what happened in Chuah, when the matter was in fact resolved several days back.
"Kenny has also affirmed full support for Pakatan candidates contesting in state seats under the Port Dickson constituency," he told a press conference here on Monday (July 20).
Aminuddin, who is also caretaker Mentri Besar, said Chiew is working hard to ensure the party’s work proceeds smoothly for the Aug 1 state election.
