BENGALURU: Several Karnataka Youth Congress workers were detained on Sunday while attempting to gherao the BJP office in Malleswaram during a protest over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and a series of student suicides and later released, news agency PTI reported.The demonstrators gathered near the BJP office and raised slogans against the Centre, accusing the Union government of failing to address concerns surrounding the examination. They alleged that the government was "playing with the future" of lakhs of students.Police detained the protesters who had assembled at the spot and released them later.In a statement, the Youth Congress alleged that police used a lathi-charge to disperse its members during the protest.
