NEW DELHI: Trap shooter Neeru Dhanda finished the Asian Games 2026 with two gold medals and a silver, emerging as one of India's standout performers in Aichi-Nagoya. A day after returning home to Sangatpura village in Jind, the 27-year-old was asked to make another trip to Japan - this time to carry the Indian flag at the closing ceremony.The call came from former Indian shooter and India’s deputy chef de mission at Aichi-Nagoya Anjali Bhagwat, who told Neeru that she had been chosen as India's women's flag bearer for the closing ceremony of the Asian Games 2026.Neeru had returned to India only a day earlier after completing a memorable campaign in Aichi-Nagoya. She was still recovering from viral fever and feeling weak, but did not want to let the opportunity go.Within hours, she packed her bags and headed back to the airport."I am at the airport.
