NEC Team lauds Alia’s infrastructure drive, urges peer learning

A delegation from Nigeria's National Economic Council (NEC) visited Benue State to monitor the implementation of economic resolutions and infrastructure projects. The team encouraged peer learning among states to replicate successful development programs.
Why it matters
Inter-state cooperation and monitoring are essential for ensuring consistent economic growth and infrastructure development across Nigeria's sub-national regions.
A delegation of the Implementation Monitoring Committee, IMC, of the National Economic Council, NEC, for the North Central Zone has described its visit to Benue State as an “eye-opener,” citing visible progress in infrastructure, job creation, agriculture, and investment under Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration.
The team, led by the North Central Team Lead of the IMC, Professor Jerome Andohol who made the position of the delegation known on Friday after the conclusion of its tour, said the tour is part of a broader mandate to assess the extent to which NEC resolutions and templates are being implemented across sub-nationals, and to document legacy projects executed within the last one year.
