Nearly 1 crore more zero-fare bus tickets issued for women in 3 months; Telangana RTC increases services

The demand for free bus ride scheme continues in Telangana as 35.651 crore zero-fare tickets were issued for women in the months of July, August and September this year, which is 97.20 lakh more than 34.679 crore tickets issued in the corresponding months of the previous year.
Considering the surge in demand for the public transport service , Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) increased services in various parts of the State to accommodate the passengers, as per a press note issued on Monday (October 5, 2026). In the Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem region, more trips were included between Khammam and Yellandu; Yellandu and Kothagudem; Khammam and Madira, and Saraipet and Khammam.
