NDA partners will contest local body polls in coordination, says BJP MLA
BJP MLA C. Adinarayana Reddy stated that the TDP-BJP-Jana Sena alliance will contest local body elections in coordination to defeat the YSRCP. He expressed confidence in the coalition's strength and dismissed YSRCP's criticisms regarding past election irregularities.
Why it matters
Local body elections are critical for grassroots political control, and this alliance represents a significant shift in the electoral landscape of the region.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA C. Adinarayana Reddy on Tuesday expressed confidence that the TDP-BJP-Jana Sena alliance would secure a decisive victory in the forthcoming local body elections, saying the coalition partners would contest in coordination based on their strength at the grassroots level.
Addressing the media here, Mr Adinarayana Reddy said seat-sharing would be decided through discussions, with candidates selected based on local conditions rather than the number of seats each party claims. “The coalition will work unitedly and defeat the YSRCP,” he said.
Responding to YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s call to his party workers to prepare for the elections, he said the former Chief Minister should be ready to face the democratic verdict.
Alleging that democratic processes had been undermined during the previous YSRCP’s tenure, he said the coalition government was committed to conducting the elections democratically.
