NDA partners in Andhra Pradesh warn cadre as fake accounts stoke discord

The NDA alliance in Andhra Pradesh has issued a joint warning to their social media supporters to stop attacking partner parties. The coalition suspects fake accounts are intentionally stoking discord to benefit the opposition YSRCP.
Why it matters
This highlights the growing influence of social media manipulation in regional Indian politics and the challenges of managing coalition stability in the digital age.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) , Jana Sena Party and BJP , the three constituents of the NDA alliance in Andhra Pradesh , have asked their social media activists and supporters to refrain from personal attacks, abusive posts and hostile campaigns against leaders of their alliance partners.
In a joint statement posted by the JSP on social media platform X on Tuesday (August 11, 2026), the NDA Social Media Coordination Committee said it had noticed the activities of fake accounts and “pseudo supporters” posing as supporters or workers of one of the alliance parties while targeting leaders of another partner.
