Leaders of Andhra Pradesh United Teachers Federation (AP UTF) on Wednesday said that the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) proposes to constitute a sub-committee to review the syllabus, qualifying marks and examination pattern of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) and suggest changes to it.

The UTF State president N. Venkateswarlu and general secretary K.S.S. Prasad, along with leaders of the School Teachers’ Federation (STFI) C.N. Bharathi and Chava Ravi, met NCTE chairman Pankaj Arora, member secretary Sukhjeet Kaur, deputy secretary Satish Kumar and other officials in New Delhi on Wednesday and submitted memoranda on issues concerning TET.

They explained to the NCTE Deputy Secretary (Academic) Satish Kumar the difficulties being faced by teachers in the existing TET system, informing that the in-service teachers across the country were under considerable anxiety following the Supreme Court verdict requiring them to qualify in TET by August 31, 2028.
