An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) with the Navi Mumbai Police Department’s Special Branch was found dead at a lodge in Rabale, Navi Mumbai, on Saturday (September 5) evening, according to police.
ASI Pandurang Nimba Patil allegedly left behind a note and a video on social media, accusing a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), the Wireless Assistant Commissioner of Police, and a head clerk of harassment and causing mental distress.
In the video, he appealed to Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe to ensure that he received justice for the alleged harassment, and also claimed in the note that certain officials and colleagues drove him to take the extreme step by allegedly harassing him.
