It looks like National has made a huge mistake threatening to break up Foodstuffs.

This is not a policy you expect from the party of private enterprise.

It is a policy you expect from the Green Party. Which is why the Greens actually saluted Christopher Luxon in the House and then called him comrade.

It is as shocking as if the Labour Party threatened to cut the minimum wage.

It is a complete abandonment of the values National crows about on its website. Ambition and success. Reward for hard work.

Foodstuffs is not a company made up of slick corporates in beautifully furnished offshore skyscrapers.

It is made up of New Zealanders who sometimes have incredible stories of battling to get ahead.
