US space agency NASA is set to launch a next-generation space telescope as early as the end of August.
The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope has a 2.4-meter primary mirror and a 300-megapixel infrared camera, which will enable it to observe wide areas of space with high resolution.
NASA says Roman will have a field of view at least 100 times larger than that of the Hubble Space Telescope, which was launched in 1990 and made various achievements including observation of galaxies.
NASA officials say the next-generation telescope is expected to unravel the mystery of dark matter in the universe, and discover exoplanets beyond our solar system.
