Namma Shale flags infrastructure issues at 1,300 government schools across Karnataka
The Namma Shale platform has identified infrastructure issues in 1,300 government schools across Karnataka using a crowdsourced reporting system. The platform aims to connect schools in need of repair with private companies willing to provide CSR funding.
Why it matters
This initiative leverages technology to increase transparency and accountability in public education infrastructure management.
Namma Shale, a citizen-based online platform, has received reports of 1,300 schools across 30 districts in Karnataka concerning the bad shape of government schools. It includes dysfunctional toilets, lack of clean drinking water, collapsed ceiling or walls in classrooms, broken windows and doors, and more.
Dhruv Jatti, founder of Namma Shale, said: “We launched the platform on August 27, 2026, and have geotagged all 47,000 government schools in the State. Anyone can go to NammaShale.in, upload pictures and explain the issues in government schools in their respective districts, taluks, and villages.”
