Namibia Seeks Critical Minerals Investment Between China and the U.S.

email facebook linkedin twitter Whatsapp Namibia is seeking U.S. investment across the critical minerals value chain as it aims to expand local processing and reduce dependence on raw mineral exports. China remains a dominant player in Namibia’s mining sector, with Chinese companies holding major stakes in the country’s uranium industry and investing billions of dollars in mining assets. Windhoek wants to turn global competition for uranium, lithium, rare earths, and other strategic minerals into local industrial development through technology transfer and value addition. Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has invited U.S. companies to invest across the entire critical minerals value chain during a roundtable organized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in New York last week.
The investment opportunities cover exploration, mining, processing, refining, and manufacturing activities.
